Chemicals & Plastics

Our engineering expertise is built over decades

Our in-house team of engineers and project managers are time-served experts in their fields across civil, chemical, structural, mechanical, process, electrical and automation engineering. We have the unique experience and skills to guide your project every step of the way from concept to CQV, across the full EPCMv lifecycle.

A technical partner for your plant

Our approach is flexible to our client needs, depending on their available in-house resource, time and budget commitments.  From FEED studies, concept design, debottlenecking, scale-ups, new plants and extensions our aim is to deliver a more intelligent plant for your needs, one that improves speed and efficiency, increases safety and sustainability and optimises processes for best output and outcome.

We are able to apply our innovative approach across all segments of the chemical and plastics industry, including polymers, fine & speciality chemicals (ethylene/propylene), phenol/formaldehyde silicones, synthetics, pigments & dyes, soaps, electronic materials, fertilisers, agrochemicals, plastics, resins and lubricants. We are versed in both batch and continuous operations and, with around 40% of the world’s leading chemical companies based in Europe, we are ideally positioned to cover both UK and EU operations.

Safety you can depend on

Our safety record is outstanding and we are mindful of the specific regulation within the chemicals and plastics environment. HAZOPs, EA compliance and eliminating risk to both workforce and local environment are all embedded within our core approach as a Safe Contractor and ISO-certified company.

We understand the problems related to leakages, temperature control, equipment corrosion and pressure that must be integral to each design stage of units and lines. Our structural and chemical engineers work precisely to required standard, ratings and specific parameters depending on process and conditions using HAZOP and fault tree analysis methodology. CAD and 3D modelling and simulation can be used to effectively demonstrate scenarios of unit operations and pilot plants can be developed as part of the process.

Core Services

We can help you assess the viability and scope of a potential project for your new or existing site from initial simulations to capital and operating cost estimations.

Our civil, mechanical, process, facilities, automation and electrical engineering team provide a comprehensive engineering design service up to Principal Designer level where required.

Our in-house team of project managers can oversee the build and construction of your plant, system or equipment.  We are experienced CMD duty holders, operating EPC/EPCMv contracts for a range of clients.

We offer a full turnkey solution from concept to installation, including full support at CQV stage.

Delivering sustainability for our clients

Chemicals and plastics are all around us in the lives we live at work and at home.  Such volume has seen industry pressure for reduced energy consumption, use of low CO2 materials and feedstocks as well as improved sustainability during the manufacturing process.

We help sites adapt and enhance their production facilities and processes to meet these demands and develop long-term strategies for sustainable chemicals and plastics manufacturing.  Our in-house electrical and automation team lead our clients boldly through the digitisation of their site, identifying and creating efficiencies at every stage of the process.
