Problem:
Our client had received a noise complaint through the local authority; however, the source was not identified. They needed to identify and address the issue but ensure the ventilation for the factory was not compromised. In fact, the client chose to look at ventilation improvements as part of the study.
Approach:
We conducted an in-depth site and receptor position survey to establish the data and determine the source and cause of the issue. Data logging key parameters and using our knowledge of fan characteristics and vent system design.
Outcome/Benefits:
We identified the source of the complaint and proved the cause. We outlined a staged improvement plan for the client which included designing and installing directional cowls that did not compromise extraction and satisfied the local authority.
